Thanksgiving Week

This week was great!  I got to go to my aunt’s house for a break and spend time with my brother.  For Thanksgiving, my aunt, uncle, brother, and I went to a nearby uncle’s house where lots of people gathered for food.  Haha There was a lot of little kids running around and it was glorious.  We got to Skype my family too which was a treat!  I love them and miss them and can’t wait to see them again in real life in just three short weeks!  I’m SO excited! J
Sorry I don't have any pictures for you!

Plethora of thoughts ...but I'll sum it up in 3!

OK, there's a lot I've thinking about lately ...but I'll sum it up to three! :)

First,  I'm so THANKFUL for the good in my life.  "There's so much to be thankful for" as Josh Groban puts:  Watch Josh Groban's song about this-AMAZING!!  (but watch out! You may have to listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving! ;)

Second, I just want to highlight the Helping Hands effort on the east coast! :) ... Mormon Helping Hand video:)   My boss shared this to me at work today and it was very touching.

Third, I just want to say what a beautiful snow we had today!  It cheered me up and I even got some hot chocolate out of it! :)

Pictures from today:

Happy "Middle of the week"! :)   ...don't forget the small stuff!

Shayla and Heidi Weekend

This is my weekend with Shayla!  It was FABULOUS! :)

We took a tour of campus and she loved it: this was her favorite scene.

Then Sam and her made dinner!  It was SO delicious!
Gettin' hungry! :)

Best weekend ever!

This weekend was SO good!  I got to go to a wedding shower for a friend, go to an opera and sing in the backup choir during the finale ("Sour Angelia" was the opera and it was heart-wrenchingly sweet at the end!), then eat some "fro-yo" with one of my best friends ever!  She came to visit for the weekend and I had SO much fun!

This weekend is also Veteran's Day.  I used to just get excited because it usually meant a random day off of school no matter what day of the week it was.  This summer, I had the opportunity to visit sites and memorials that recognized the sacrifice that went into forming this marvelous country.  I am more appreciative now for the brilliant men and woman who contributed to creating this country.

I also got to watch this video online the other night!  It was for an online class about bettering your life and I LOVED it!  :)  AWESOME video!   Then, I went off to have a great weekend!

Stopping to Smell the Roses! ...any ideas?

Whew!  This was a fast and productive week.  I did homework, exercise, grocery shopping, laundry, and went to the temple which is pretty typical of a week for me!  Once nice treat was that my Pakistan Mid-term was canceled!  More time to sleep! haha I got a nap in and had more time to do other homework! :)  It was good.
I also helped a friend decorate her apartment for Christmas!  haha, yeah, I know it seems early, but if you remember that we're only here for several more weeks and it's going to have to come down by mid-December for the end of semester clean checks, it makes a lot more sense! haha
There really does seem to be a time warp here.  I kind of like moving fast but at the same time, I wish for more moments of quite reflection or where I breath and simply enjoy living in the moment! :)
Here's a picture of me when I "stopped to smell the roses" once.

I did this literally but I want to learn how to do it better in the figurative sense so if you have any ideas, I'm open! :)
